Several Springfield residents stood outside City Hall Monday night calling for Mayor Domenic Sarno to implement two ordinances against foreclosure.
The City Council passed an ordinance back in 2011 to help homeowners fighting foreclosure and eviction.
It doesn't go into effect until the mayor signs it.
"New homeowners who have moved here since 2011 need help and they're not being protected when they should be, and there's a law out there that can protect them," said Candejah Pink, of Springfield.
Sarno says the city has just completed what it needed to do internally to implement the ordinance.
He'll bring it to the council's attention during an Oct. 21 meeting.
