The 23rd annual SIDS Road Race took place at the John Boyle O'Reilly Club on Sunday morning.
The race, co-sponsored by Rep. Richard Neal, is a memorial run for Barry and Anne Metayer, who lost their son to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Sunday's race was a five-mile run or a 3.7-mile walk.
About 650 people took part despite the rain throughout the event.
Organizers, who have collected about $750,000 in the 23 years, said that the money has helped to prevent SIDS and offer support to those affected by it in Massachusetts.
In addition to the race, there was a post-race party with food trucks, live entertainment and a kid zone for children to play in.
