Detectives are investigating after gunfire left a father and his baby daughter with critical injuries Monday night.
The 21-year-old man was getting out of a vehicle with his 10-month-old daughter when shots rang out, police said.
The baby is in critical condition at an area hospital while the man is in critical but stable condition.
A gray Ford sedan was seen leaving the area, police said.
The gunfire erupted about 8:40 p.m. at 39th Street and Bellefontaine Avenue. Witnesses reported hearing multiple rounds. Multiple shell casings were left at the scene, and detectives and crime-scene technicians are working to determine if more than one weapon was used.
The crime scene was just in front of a church.
Those with any information should call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
