KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Police have two men in custody following a lengthy chase with two carjacking victims found in the trunk of the car.

The suspects, said to be in their 20s, crashed the two-door car about 12:45 a.m. Monday in a ditch on eastbound Interstate 70 near the Turner Diagonal Freeway in Kansas City, KS.

Police were able to capture the men in a nearby wooded area.

Officers found a man and woman in the trunk of the car. Both of them were in good condition.

The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted Topeka police in the pursuit of the car after the suspects failed to pay the toll at the turnpike's eastern terminal exit.

Early details of the investigation revealed that the two victims were kidnapped from Topeka about 9:45 p.m. Sunday at Sixth and Arter streets.

The two subjects are being held in KCK for formal charging.
