Tucson change in command ceremony

TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base will welcome a new commander on Sept. 24.

Lt. Gen. Tod Wolters will take command of the 12th Air Force (Air Forces Southern) on Tuesday from Lt. Gen. Robin Rand. Wolters previous assignment was Director of the Air Force's Legislative Liaison Office at the Pentagon.

Rand will go on and assume command of Air Education and Training Command at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

The 12th Air Force operates over 800 aircraft and is responsible for combat readiness of ten active-duty wings.

Gen. Mike Hostage III, commander of Air Combat Command, will be presiding over the ceremony.
