CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

A tanker truck leaking diesel in the southeast Valley caused State Route 87 southbound to close Thursday.

The Department of Public Safety said they received a report about 8:48 a.m. of an 18-wheeler that rolled over near Gilbert Road.

The two people inside the 18-wheeler were taken to Scottsdale Osborn Hospital. Their injuries are unknown.

Southbound SR 87 has partially reopened from Shea Boulevard to Gilbert Road as crews continue to clear the fuel spill.

ADOT said drivers should expect delays and plan for extra travel time. There is no estimated time for both southbound lanes to reopen.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
