Police chase ends in crash on I-635 in Northland

Posted: Updated:

It was a wild chase, or a long one at least, that closed a section of Interstate 635 for an hour Wednesday night.

Police said the chase started after someone was shot at in the Turner area.

The chase went all the way up by Kansas City International Airport, to Tiffany Springs Parkway and back south again.

Somewhere along the way, police threw stop sticks. It is unknown yet if that played a part in the car eventually rolling into the median on southbound I-635 just south of the I-29 split.

The wreck happened at 8 p.m.

Officers on the scene say there were two men, two women and a 16-year-old girl in the car.  None of them were injured. All five were taken into police custody.
