KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

If anyone is looking for a way to cool down in the unbearable heat, many area pools will be open for free or at a reduced price.

It is part of the Beat the Heat at KC Pools this weekend.

This is the last weekend many pools will be open this summer, and the Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department wanted to offer a chance for people to cool off at no or low cost.

The city is opening two closed pools to offer more opportunities to cool down.

The Arbor Villa pool at 66th Terrace and Main Street and the Jarboe Park pool at 16th and Jarboe streets will re-open this weekend for free.

The Budd Park, Grove Park and Swope Park pools will stay open longer this weekend.  These pools cost $3.

If you go to kcparks.org and click on the "splash special" coupon, admission is $3 for the Bay Water Park and the Springs Aquatic Center water park. Click here for a list of area spray parks.
