PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Arizona woman accused of running over her husband during an argument over the 2012 presidential election rejected an offered plea agreement Friday.

Authorities said 29-year-old Holly Nicole Solomon was upset about President Barack Obama's re-election and argued with her husband Nov. 10, four days after the election, when she found out he didn't vote.

Solomon's lawyer said she rejected prosecutors' plea offer in court Friday because it called for a prison term and because she wants to tell her side of the story in court.

Police said Solomon chased her 36-year-old husband through a Gilbert parking lot with their Jeep SUV, circled him as he took refuge behind a light pole and pinned him between the SUV and a curb as he tried to flee.

Her husband suffered a fractured pelvis. Police said they didn't believe Solomon was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.

Solomon is set to go on trial on Oct. 30.
