Vertical construction as begun for the new Banshee roller coaster at King's Island with supports for the train storage and maintenance area going up first.
The first pieces of track were delivered to the park last Friday morning. The new coaster was announced by Kings Island PR Manager Don Helbig in late July.
The coaster will reach speeds up to 68 miles per hour and is similar to the After Burn roller coaster at Carowinds Amusement Park in North Carolina.
The world's longest inverted roller coaster (4,124 feet) will be open in April of 2014. For all the coaster enthusiasts, officials say elements will include a Curved Drop, Dive Loop, Looping
interacting with the lift, Zero-G-Roll, Batwing, Outside Loop, Spiral,
In-Line-Roll, and Carousel.
