Introducing... Super Grayson!
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
A local organization is helping patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital discover their inner superhero.
The Hero Design Company, a project by ARTWORKS, works to encourage children facing emotional, physical or medical hardships.
One way they do so is through the creation of custom superhero capes.
"We believe every kid deserves to be recognized and know that they are powerful," explained Hero Design Co. Project Manager Ryan Mulligan.
These 'Hero Design Facilitators' work with children and their families to identify their own personal strengths, abilities, and real world super powers.
"They really are heroes especially to us. They are so strong, and they're brave, and we are really proud of them, said ArtWorks team member Becky Roetker. "I know they're families are proud of them, and we want to make sure they know everyone is proud and that they are proud of themselves."
After five days of designing, this year's superhero capes were ready.
ArtWorks began the project in 2012 touching the lives of hundreds of children and adults.
