Thousands of candle lovers made their way to Franklin County on Saturday to take part in the first Fan Appreciation Day at Yankee Candle Village.
The company said the event was put together as a thank you to their fans after passing 1 million likes on Facebook.
For five hours in the afternoon, those in attendance got to taste food that matched up with certain candles, work with the company's product development team to help decide the next new Yankee Candle fragrance and they got to spend time with the company's CEO Harlan Kent.
"Everything is growing here in South Deerfield," said Kent. "This store is growing. It all comes back to why we're here today. It's all of the customers that love the candles. We really appreciate them. This is just a day about saying thanks."
"It's exciting," said Spencer resident Joan Bellizzi. "It's fun to take part in all of the things that are going on. It's fun to do the fragrance smelling and helping the company decide to pick a new candle. It's a lot of fun."
Officials said this November will mark their 30th anniversary inside their 90,000-square-foot home.
