KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

If anyone has ever been to a Sporting Kansas City game, they have probably see him relentlessly challenging attackers on the field.

Aurelien Collin has built a reputation as one of the toughest centerbacks in Major League Soccer.

He's playing in the AT&T MLS All-Star Game for the second year in a row.

Most have seen what an aggressive athlete Collin is, but off the field, he has a serious passion for fashion.

Collin is launching his fashion line Tuesday night, and KCTV5 It's Your Morning got a personal tour of what inspires him.

If you look beyond Collin's home closet, you can see the hottest trends in accessories, suits, footwear and jackets.

Collin does everything in style - his style.

"People would say, this looks like a woman's dress, but this is the style I love right now," he said.

He is bringing the same winning pizzazz he shows as a major player for Sporting KC to the runway.

Growing up in Paris, the fashion capital of the world, Collin quickly became absorbed in it.

"My mother was always buying me fashion magazines so I could read it," he said.

Now he is pursuing it. The 27-year-old Frenchman spends his free time studying fashion, drawing and learning to sew.

"You know, fashion is a state of mind. If you like things, you are going to follow the fashion. If you don't like the way fashion is going, sometimes you won't," he said.

He hopes others follow his line, AC78. It is small now, starting with a series of slim cut suits that he designed with his tailor, Tom Paolini.

"One of the main things about my suits, for the people who are going to like it, it will be very short because you can use your socks as an accessory," he said.

His teammate, Graham Zusi, wore one on the red carpet at the ESPYs. That moment was the beginning of a dream come true.

"When I came to America, I saw the people considering that a soccer player was a regular person and able to do whatever he wants outside the field if he's great on the field," Collin said.

Collin has that going for him, and his sewing is coming along too.

He said though he may have an eye for fashion, soccer is still his priority.

His first fashion show is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Power and Light District just before the Silver Sun Pickups concert. In addition, a few of his teammates will be modeling the suits on the runway.
