PLATTE COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City man has been arrested after authorities said he attempted to engage in sexual contact with a child in exchanged for money.

Christopher Craig was arrested last Monday on charges of attempted enticement of a child, attempted statutory rape and trafficking for purposes of sexual exploitation.

Authorities said Craig believed the child was 13 years old.

He is currently being held at the Platte County Detention Center on $100,000 cash only bond.

Craig's arrest was part of an investigation conducted by the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, a multi-jurisdiction task force that investigates online crimes in a 27-county area in western Missouri.  

The task force, which focuses its efforts in the areas of child enticement and child pornography, is made up of investigators from the Buchanan, Cass, Clay, Lafayette, Nodaway and Platte County sheriff's offices and the Gladstone and Liberty police departments.
