Crews recover 19-year-old drowning victim from Ohio River

GALLATIN COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Rescue crews recovered the body of a 19-year-old who disappeared while swimming in the Ohio River.

Police say Taylor Fisher of Warsaw, Ky. was swimming with a friend near a city boat dock in Warsaw. According to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, a boat approached the dock where two were swimming.

The second swimmer got out of the water while Fisher did not for unknown reasons. He was reported missing around 3 p.m. and a search and rescue effort began by authorities.

Nearly six hours later, deputies say Fisher's body was recovered from river around 8:45 p.m. 

In addition to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, responders from Boone County, Carrol County, Ghent, KY, Switzerland County, Commonwealth Search and Rescue K9's, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and Indiana Conservation all assisted in the search.
