A small plane has crashed into a house in a central Indiana, igniting a fire and injuring two people who were on the plane.

The plane had just taken off from the Columbus Regional Airport.

FOX59 in Indianapolis is reporting that the men on the plane have been identified as Dennis King and Gerald Clayton. Both are in serious condition at Wishard Hospital. The single-engine plane was registered to Clayton.

The homeowner said she was home alone at the time and made it out safely. The home suffered major damage. Neighboring homes also suffered damaged from the heat of the fire.

The FAA is expected to be on scene later on Thursday to take over the investigation.

Columbus is about 90 miles west of Cincinnati.
