Mesa police arrested a 24-year-old man for attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of a woman over the weekend.
Xavier Vincent Nixon, of Mesa, was arrested Saturday night and booked on charges of attempted second-degree murder after his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend was stabbed at 1050 S. Longmore in Mesa, said Mesa police Sgt. Chuck Trapani.
Nixon and the victim were arguing in her apartment about 1 a.m. Saturday when the stabbing occurred, Trapani said, though it was not known what the argument was about.
The woman was treated for multiple stab wounds at a Mesa hospital.
No other information was immediately available.
