A wild police pursuit lasting almost an hour finally came to an end with flattened tires, and a suspect in custody in Grain Valley, MO.
Independence police said they tried to stop a vehicle at Noland Road and Highway 40, after numerous reports of reckless driving about 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the vehicle took off, traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Highway 40. It did numerous U-turns and sped through the parking lot of the Walmart at Highway 40 and Interstate 70, before then heading eastbound on Highway 40, still at a high rate of speed.
Police were able to spike the vehicle's tires at Lee's Summit Road but, with three flats, the chase continued into Grain Valley, but at a slow-speed.
The chase finally ending at Main Street and Highway 40 just before 1 p.m.
Numerous agencies, including Independence, Blue Springs, Grain Valley and the Missouri Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit and capture of the suspect.
There were no injuries.
The suspect's identity has not been released.
