A motorcyclist who suffered critical injuries after colliding with a car Friday evening has died.
The crash happened about 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of East Independence and Hardesty Avenue.
Chopper 5 video showed a motorcycle lying on its side in the intersection with a car nearby that had a visible hole in its windshield.
Police said 28-year-old Jesus A. Caycho of Kansas City was driving a motorcycle when he hit the side of a car. The driver of the car stopped and talked to police.
Accident investigators said preliminary reports show Caycho was eastbound when the car's driver turned from westbound southbound in his path. Caycho and his motorcycle struck the passenger side of the car and he was thrown from the bike.
