Police looking for driver who struck bicyclist, drove off

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police said serious injuries were reported in a wreck between a bicycle and a car.

Kansas City, MO, police are looking for a driver who struck a bicyclist and then left the scene. The hit-and-run happened near the intersection of East 37th and Olive streets on the city's east side shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.

Officers said preliminary reports indicate the bicyclist was heading west on 37th and the vehicle was going north when they collided. They aren't sure at this time who was at fault.

Police are looking for a dark blue Nissan, possibly an Altima with windshield and/or hood damage.

The male bicyclist who is in his 30s suffered serious head injuries.
