VERNON, CT (WFSB) -

The Vernon Police Department has released flyers with new pictures of the masked man who they say robbed a bank in Vernon in June.

A man wearing a black mask entered and robbed the People's United Bank in the Tri-City Plaza during the morning of June 21.

Police said the man claimed to have a bomb, tied up an employee and took a worker's car along with an undisclosed amount of money.

No employees were seriously injured during the robbery, police said.

The unoccupied car was found in an old industrial lot near Exit 63 off Interstate 84 in Manchester a short time later.

Police are hoping the public can help identify the suspect, especially after a New Jersey man was arrested in connection with the bank robbery at the People's Bank on Talcottville Road in May.

Arthur Allyn, 32, was arraigned in court in Connecticut Thursday after police were able to locate the vehicle used in the robbery and trace it back to him, police said.

Investigators used the public's help to with the arrest of Allyn and they are hoping the same thing will work in this case.

The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt over a gray sweatshirt, brown sweat pants and black sneakers during the robbery, police said.

The mask was over his face with some type of glasses underneath it, police said.

The CT Bankers Association is also offering a $2,000 reward for information "leading to the capture and conviction of the robber(s)."

Anyone with any information about the robbery should call Vernon Police Department at 860-872-9126. All calls would remain anonymous.
