ELOY, AZ (CBS5) -

A Mexican man deported 11 times for entering the United State illegally was caught once again, this time by an Eloy police officer and a Pinal County sheriff's deputy on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Daniel Jupa-Fino, 21, of Sonora, Mexico, was taken into custody after fighting with the two officers at a truck stop in Eloy.

Jupa-Fino was one of two men in a car chased by a Pinal County deputy Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 8 where it connects with I-10. The car was traveling west and when the deputy tried to pull it over it crossed into the eastbound lanes before stopping suddenly.

Deputies said two men fled from the car and were chased into a nearby trailer park, where the passenger, 19-year-old Felipe Gonzalez-Tempura, was captured.

The Eloy Police Department received a call about 8:20 p.m. from someone who reported a suspicious person at the Pride Travel Center on South Sunland Gin Road. The Eloy detective and deputy recognized the suspect as the driver of the car and took him into custody after a brief fight.

He was taken to the U.S. Border Patrol Office, where agents identified him and informed deputies of the previous 11 deportations.

Deputies found 10 packaged bundles of marijuana, which weighed approximately 220 pounds with a street value of more than $165,000, inside the car. The marijuana and car were seized.

Jupa-Fino and Gonzalez-Tempura were booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana.
