VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

Vancouver police have arrested an Arizona man accused of attacking a Safeway employee in her car and attempting to kidnap her.

The alleged attack happened Wednesday afternoon near the Safeway store on East Mill Plain Boulevard.

The woman was sitting in her vehicle when Timothy Parker, 37, approached her and asked for some change, police said. When the woman told Parker she didn't have any change, he placed her in a choke hold and threatened to kill her, they added.

"Come on let''s go. I'll kill ya, I'll kill ya," Parker told the victim, according to court documents.

Parker tried to push the woman into the passenger seat, police said, but the woman started to fight back.

A customer saw the attack and called 911, police said. Parker was gone by the time officers arrived.

Parker was arrested several hours later, after a man noticed he had returned to the area where the alleged attack happened, police said. The man called police.

According to records, Parker does not have a criminal history in Oregon.

Parker made his first court appearance on Thursday on several charges. He's scheduled to be arraigned later this month.

Parker's attorney could not be reached for comment.
