San Luis man sentenced in drug trafficking case

A southern Arizona man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison in a drug trafficking case.

Prosecutors say 40-year-old Indalecio Castro-Ponce, of San Luis, was convicted in April on one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of possession with intent to distribute meth.

Authorities say Castro-Ponce conspired to distribute methamphetamine on more than 20 occasions to various locations including Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and three California cities-- Fresno, Sunland and Moreno Valley.

Authorities reported seizing more than three pounds of methamphetamine from a location in Fresno and more than seven pounds of meth from a location in Moreno Valley along with more than $200,000 in cash.
