MANSFIELD, OH (WOIO) -
Scott Entsminger's memorial service was surprisingly upbeat mainly because part of Scott's obituary asked if six browns football players could be pallbearers at his funeral so they could let him down one last time.
Scott's friends are not surprised.
"I think it's typical Scott. He was a Cleveland Browns die-hard fan," said a family friend.
The Browns didn't send six players - instead they sent two representatives with a personalized Lou Groza jersey -- Groza was Scott's favorite player.
"I think it's good that the team reached out to fans especially ones like Scott," said another family member.
Scott probably never expected the Browns to honor his request considering he was cremated a day after he died but apparently he said the line was just too good to pass up. Scott died on the July 4, but his quick wit and humor live on helping friends and family move through this difficult time, especially Scott's only son Aaron.
"It's been non stop crying for me unable to look at a picture of him and now I can look at him and laugh," said Aaron Entsminger.
Scott was six years old the last time the Browns won a championship back in 1964. He epitomizes what it means to be a Browns' fan; frustrated, discouraged but fiercely and loyal.
He never missed a game in 17 years.
Now with the Browns sporting a new owner and management maybe Scott can finally enjoy a winning season from that great "Dawg Pound" in the sky.
