Man charged after allegedly abducting woman, raping her in semi

Prosecutors charged a Michigan man in connection with a reported rape Wednesday morning of a 30-year-old woman.

LaAnthony O. Jones, 42, faces two felony counts, forcible rape and felonious restraint.

According to court records, a 30-year-old woman reported a rape, and abduction by a stranger in the area of Independence and Wabash avenues. She was walking with her sister when a man pulled up in a diesel semi-truck. He forced her in the back of the cab with an unknown object that she thought was a weapon, and began to beat her.

According to court documents, the man removed the victim's clothing and raped her, she told police.

She was rescued after police stopped the moving truck, following her attack.

Prosecutors requested Jones' bond be set at $250,000 cash.
