WOODBRIDGE, CT (WFSB) -

New Haven police arrested a 20-year-old man accused of shooting a woman and injuring another on a rural road in Woodbridge earlier this week.

The suspect, who was later identified as Patrick Young of Hartford, drove to a remote area with three other women in the car near the Bethany town line Monday.

The vehicle pulled to the side of the road near the Morris Road and Route 69 intersection.

Police said Young, who apparently knew the victims, ordered two of the women out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

According to police, Young shot one woman once in the hand and in the chest then fled the area in the vehicle.

After searching the surrounding area, Woodbridge police notified other departments they were searching for Young.

On Tuesday, Young was located in a white Acura in the Fair Haven district of New Haven. He was armed, police said.

Young was arrested without incident and turned over to Woodbridge police.

No weapon was recovered.

Young was arraigned in New Haven Superior Court Wednesday. His next court appearance is on July 16.
