Two people shot in Golf Manor

Posted: Updated:
GOLF MANOR, OH (FOX19) -

Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies and Golf Manor Police are investigating a shooting in the 2400 block of Canterbury in Golf Manor.

Golf Manor police officer Michael Forrest says an unknown individual went to the rear of the home and from the back patio shot several rounds into the bedroom.

Upon arrival, police found Ronald Devine, 38, suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and wrist and Berlinda Williams, 34, suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg.

"It's expected that the individual knew them. He certainly knew exactly where the bedroom window was he didn't just shoot up the entire back of the house," Forrest said.

The victims were taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The couple says they were shot while they were sleeping. Forrest confirmed two juveniles were in the residence at the time but were unharmed.

Golf Manor police say they do not believe the incident was a random act.

"I believe that this was an incident between two individuals," Forrest said Wednesday.

The suspect(s) fled the scene after the shooting. Police are looking for a silver Toyota Tacoma that may have been involved.

"I do not believe that this particular subject will be returning to our neighborhood in the short future," Forrest said.

Golf Manor police say they have individuals they are looking into but would not give specifics citing the ongoing investigation. He says police did stop a vehicle as they were arriving on the scene, but says there were no witnesses to the incident.

Golf Manor Police say this is unusual for their community.
