PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Workers from Salt River Project have replaced the anchors for nine 115,000-volt transmission lines on Horse Mesa Dam on the Salt River.

SRP said two linemen loaded up into a basket attached to a crane and went up and down the face of the dam, repairing transmission lines. A third lineman rappelled off the side of the dam to replace each of the anchors located about 30 stories above the ground. SRP said the project was completed last week.

SRP said each day the nine transmission lines transport renewable energy from the hydroelectric generating station at the dam to SRP customers in the Valley.

The Horse Mesa Dam is a concrete thin-arch dam northeast of Phoenix.
