KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A 45-year-old man died after his tractor trailer overturned on the ramp from northbound Interstate 435 to eastbound I-70.

William R. Bass, of Kansas City, MO, died in the accident that happened about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said Bass was on the entrance ramp and trying to negotiate the turn.

Bass applied his brakes, lost control, left the roadway going into the embankment and overturned, authorities said.

He was ejected from the driver's side window and was pinned underneath the cab of the semi.

The wreck closed surrounding interchange ramps for hours.  All ramps reopened about 12:40 p.m.
