PLAINFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

The driver of a vehicle was injured following a serious crash in Plainfield Sunday evening.

Police said a car being driven by 29-year-old Benjamin Audet of Plainfield lost control on Norwich Road, hitting a curb in the southbound lane.

The impact caused the vehicle to careen across the road and hit a stonewall on the opposite side of the roadway. Police said the vehicle slid along the stonewall and then flipped into a tree, ejecting Audet.

Audet was transported by ambulance to William Backus Hospital in Norwich with unknown injuries.

Plainfield police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call them at 860-564-0804.
