Couple taken to hospital in handcuffs following police chase

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A short police chase following a vehicle running a stop sign ended with a couple being taken to the hospital in handcuffs.

Police said they tried to stop a vehicle that had run a stop sign near 55th Street and The Paseo about 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

The car took off and, after a short pursuit, wound up crashing into a tree near 60th Street and The Paseo.

The two people's injuries are not believed to be serious. There's no word on what charges they are facing.
