The Phoenix, located at 302 W. 8th Street in Kansas City, MO, is a jazz club with a great menu for patrons to enjoy. One popular item on their menu is the Steak Diane.
2, 4 oz teres major steak seasoned with salt and pepper
2, 2 oz servings of mash potatoes
1 oz mushrooms
2 oz demi glaze
1 sprig of thyme
1/2 tsp shallot (minced)
2 oz white wine
1 oz heavy cream
salt & pepper
Heat skillets with 1 tsp of olive oil. Place steak in skillet and cook to desired temperature.
De-glaze the pan with white wine and add shallots, thyme, and a dash of cream.
Salt & Pepper to taste
Serve over mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable.
