Flooding occurred on Elliott Place in Hartford after the heavy rain fall.
LITCHFIELD, CT (WFSB) -
Flooding has been reported in several parts of Connecticut Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service is reporting a flash flood warning for Litchfield County until Friday morning.
There is also a flood advisory for Hartford, Tolland and Fairfield counties until 9:15 p.m. and a flash flood watch for Litchfield and Fairfield counties.
Minor flooding could occur in poor drainage and low lying areas, the National Weather Service reports.
"Showers and thunderstorms have produced very heavy rainfall across northern and western portions of the state this afternoon and there is more to come," said Chief Meteorologist Bruce DePrest in a technical discussion. "A cold front will push into this very humid air mass tonight and tomorrow morning and that means the threat of heavy rain will continue statewide."
WFSB viewers have sent in pictures of flooding on Elliott Place in Hartford following the heavy rain.
The National Weather Service is advising motorists not to drive through flooded roads.
The severe thunderstorm warning for Fairfield and New Haven counties expired early.
