State Sen. Dante Bartolomeo and Nelba Marquez-Greene, of Newtown, are expected to announce a comprehensive new child mental health legislative proposal Monday afternoon in Hartford.
The proposal, which will be debated by the General Assembly, seeks to reduce mental, emotional and behavioral health issues in children.
It's also intended to serve as a complement to gun violence prevention and child safety measures passed last month by the legislator in reaction to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown in December.
The news conference to announce the legislation is expected to begin at noon in Hartford.
