The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the inaugural Chiefs 5K at Arrowhead Stadium at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The event allowed the more than 3,500 participants to finish the race on the 50-yard line, running through the tunnel to the field like Chiefs players do on game day.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The United Way of Greater Kansas City.
Defensive end Mike DeVito, a new addition to the Chiefs, was on hand to pass out water to the participants and said the experience shows him just how big of fans the team has.
All participants for the 5K received a one-of-a-kind Chiefs 5K finisher's medal and a commemorative T-shirt. The post-race celebration included music, KC Wolf and refreshments, as well as have the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes tours of Arrowhead Stadium after the run.
