San Luis border agents arrest man smuggling $389K of meth

SAN LUIS, AZ (CBS5) -

A 28-year-old man has been arrested for trying to smuggle more than 25 pounds of methamphetamine into the U.S. according to border agents.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers said agents stopped Juan Antonio Ruiz-Espinoza at the San Luis port and found 18 packages of crystal meth in the front bumper of his vehicle.

The drugs and vehicle were seized and Ruiz-Espinoza was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

Ruiz-Espinoza is a U.S. citizen living in San Luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico.
