PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

A former Phoenix firefighter who struck a boy on rollerblades and fled the scene has been sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Mark Nehrenz was also put on three years of probation on convictions stemming from an off-duty 2011 accident.

Nehrenz was originally charged with leaving the scene of an accident, endangerment and two DUI counts.

However, the endangerment charge and one DUI count were dismissed, and he pleaded guilty on April 10 to endangerment and one DUI count.

Records show the boy was crossing the street near 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive when he was hit by a vehicle heading eastbound on Union Hills Drive.

Judge Susanna Pineda of Maricopa County Superior Court sentenced Nehrenz on Tuesday.
