DPS officials tell KLTV that they have called off the search for a downed plane Sunday afternoon.
The Department of Public Safety says that reports of a downed plane in northern Rusk County were called in Sunday morning. The area of concern was near the intersection of State Highway 322 and FM 2011. This is near Lake Cherokee.
DPS crews from Garland flew over the area to try and find a wreck, but were unable to locate anything.
Multiple viewer reports on social media indicated a "loud boom" or "explosion" in the area Sunday morning.
