KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The weather is being blamed for several wrecks overnight in the metro.

The first happened about 12:30 a.m. Saturday near Interstate 29 and Missouri Route 152 in North Kansas City.

Police said the driver lost control of the SUV, hydroplaned and rolled.

There's no word on any injuries, and an investigation is underway.

A stretch of U.S. Highway 71 was closed overnight after a multi-vehicle accident. It started off as a two-car crash near 71 and East Bannister Road about 2 a.m.

Before that accident was cleared, police said another driver came through the area and smashed into the vehicles that were previously involved.

Police shut down the area for several hours while they investigated.
