A man was arrested for a home burglary on Saturday morning.
Police responded to a reported burglary on Hide-Away lane around 7 a.m.
The suspect entered the home while the homeowners were sleeping. A purse that was taken during the burglary was later returned to the house by a man who claimed he was a witness. The man said he saw another man drop the purse.
Nicholas Thomas, 28, of Westport, was questioned by police after he returned the purse. Through the investigation, police were able to link Thomas to the evidence in the burglary. He then confessed to the incident.
Thomas faces several charges including burglary in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and possession of narcotics.
His bond was set at $20,000. He is due in court May 7.
