Friday night's rains mean doubleheader on Sunday

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Major League Baseball has called off baseball at Kauffman Stadium Friday night.

Persistent rains mean the Royals and Cleveland Indians will play a doubleheader on Sunday.

The first game will be as scheduled at 1:10 p.m. The second game will be a rare Sunday night game at Kauffman for the Royals. That game will be at 7:10 p.m.

Conditions should be perfect for Sunday's games. KCTV5 Chief Meteorologist Chris Suchan is calling for temperatures in the 70s and a sunshine-filled day.

This is the third delayed game for the first-place Royals in a week. Last Friday's game against the Boston Red Sox was played on Sunday due to the search for the Boston Marathon bombers. Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers was postponed due to weather and must be made up later.
