TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -
Two people were arrested Wednesday for attempting to smuggle five pounds of narcotics inside their undergarments in southern Arizona.
Nogales Station Border Patrol agents working the Interstate-19 checkpoint south of Amado said they referred a commercial shuttle for inspection.
Agents said they discovered one pound of methamphetamines concealed in underwear worn by an 18-year-old male U.S. citizen.
In a separate incident Thursday night, Customs and Border Protection officers from the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry arrested a 23-year-old female U.S. citizen for attempting to smuggle four pounds of heroin concealed in her bra.
