KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A stolen vehicle from Independence led police on a wild chase though the metro Thursday night, and it ended with the suspect getting injured.

It all started when police said someone called to tell them he'd spotted his stolen van and was tailing it.

Officers with the Shoal Creek Patrol found the vehicle they said matched the stolen van's description and attempted to pull it over in the Shoal Creek area near Northeast 68th Terrace. That's when police said the female driver made an advance as though she was going to ram the officers, then she drove off.

Police said the woman eventually stopped near the Bond Bridge on the Interstate 670/Interstate 70 loop and got out. Apparently she forgot to put the van in park and it ran her over.

The woman suffered serious injuries and emergency crews rushed her to a hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

The area was cleared about 9:30 p.m.
