KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Firefighters had to use airbags to free a man trapped underneath a truck in Kansas City.

The fire department said this occurred about 2:45 p.m. 31st Street and College Avenue.

The Dodge pickup pinned the man down and he suffered critical injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Truman Medical Center.

Friends told KCTV5's Heather Staggers that the man was working on the truck and didn't have blocks underneath the tires. The truck rolled over him and it pinned him. Friends tried to lift the truck, but were unable to do so.
