Hartford Hospital doctor to discuss Esophageal Cancer

April is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month and one gastroenterology doctor will be holding a discussion on the topic in June.

Dr. David Chaletsky of Hartford Hospital will be speaking at the Avon Cancer on June 13.

Chaletsky said esophageal cancer can be directly caused by acid reflux and he is instructing people that early detection is key to fighting the disease.

Gastroenterology doctors from Hartford Hospital will also be at Glastonbury River Run on Saturday to raise awareness for cancer prevention.
