Man accused of making threats towards Governor due in court

Posted: Updated:

A Barkhamsted man is due to appear in New Britain Superior court Monday to face charges that he made threats towards Gov. Dannel Malloy via Facebook.

Police arrested 59-year-old John Montysko Friday after he made threats in the comments section of a story on the WFSB website which he then linked to from his Facebook page April 14.  Those comments referenced harm to the Governor and caused another person to call State Police and report them.

Police said they also seized several weapons from Montysko's home, ranging from hand guns to an illegal AK-47.

Montysko is charged with threatening and inciting injury to a person.  He is being held on bond.
