WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -
The Willimantic Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly robbed a convenience store using a watermelon knife.
According to police, the robbery occurred at the Cumberland Farms on Jackson Street around 10 a.m.
Police said the man used a Good Cook brand watermelon knife, which has a green handle and a red/black blade to resemble the colors of a watermelon.
The man, who was wearing a dark gray colored hooded sweatshirt with white lettering/symbols across the front chest area, is being described as a Hispanic male about 25 to 35 years old with scruffy facial hair.
It is unclear how much money was taken or if anyone was seriously injured.
Anyone with any information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call the Willimantic Police Department at 860-465-3135 ext. 240 or ext. 242.
