The Willimantic Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly robbed a convenience store using a watermelon knife.

According to police, the robbery occurred at the Cumberland Farms on Jackson Street around 10 a.m.

Police said the man used a Good Cook brand watermelon knife, which has a green handle and a red/black blade to resemble the colors of a watermelon.

The man, who was wearing a dark gray colored hooded sweatshirt with white lettering/symbols across the front chest area, is being described as a Hispanic male about 25 to 35 years old with scruffy facial hair.

It is unclear how much money was taken or if anyone was seriously injured.
