Fire heavily damages Olathe home under renovation

OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

The Olathe Fire Department is investigating the cause of an early morning fire that did extensive damage to a home that was being remodeled.

No one was in the house located in the 16100 block of West 144th Street, which is located just south of 143rd Street and a couple of blocks east of South Mur-Len Road.

Flames were shooting 20 feet into the air from the roof of the home when firefighters arrived at the scene shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday.

No firefighters were injured in the incident. It took them about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.

A cause of the fire has not yet been released.
