KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are searching for robbers who stole items from a Kansas City jewelry store as part of a smash-and-grab Tuesday afternoon.

Lichtenberg's Fine Jewelry was hit about 2:30 p.m. The store is at 13137 State Line Rd.

The two white men in their 20s used hammers to break into the jewelry cases and steal jewelry. Detectives dusted for prints and took crime scene photographs.

Police believe an older model Pontiac was involved.

The store has security measures that require customers to be buzzed in and out. The suspects were buzzed in, but authorities aren't saying if they were buzzed out.

A detective said the suspects were inside the store for just a few minutes.

Police are reviewing surveillance video and have good information that they hope will lead to arrests. If you have any information, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
